A unique facility on the Miass river embankment. The building is covered with a reinforced-concrete dome measuring 102 x 102 meters. Such a technical solution had no precedent in world practice at the time of construction. The author of the project Anatoly Shapiro, an engineer with the special design department who rose in the ranks to chief engineer over the course of his 40-year tenure at the Institute.
